Northern Virginia has been my home all my life.  I hold an economics degree from Virginia Tech and a law degree from George Washington University.  I’ve been practicing real estate since 1992, after working at a DC law firm and the U.S. Department of Justice, where I honed my contract-drafting and negotiating skills.

I enjoy educating first-time buyers and walking them through all parts of the transaction.  My specialty is comprehensive customer service, even when it means taking calls at all hours, making emergency site visits, or doggedly searching for just the right property for a buyer.  My clients can attest to my patience in providing as much time as needed to secure the right place at the right price.

I am known for breaking down the intricacies of real estate transactions into easily understandable parts for buyers and sellers at all levels of real estate experience so that the transaction is neither intimidating nor daunting.

I have purchased properties that needed work and have personally remodeled them, so I know what’s involved for buyers interested in buying a fixer-upper, both in terms of the effort it will take and the money it will require to bring the house up to standard.

For buyers, this means I can provide estimates of what upgrades will cost, and I can often suggest reliable contractors.  For sellers, it means I can advise which upgrades will pay for themselves in terms of a higher net sales price and far fewer days on the market.

My clients often rely on my expertise as they envision transforming a property into their own home.  I have assisted owners in obtaining a wide variety of financing and can also offer suggestions on refinancing properties.

I specialize in Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, and Loudoun Counties.

In my spare time, I run races, travel, and do my own yard work and house maintenance.  I like cooking for my wife and three kids and always enjoy meeting new people.
