I’ve been working in and near the real estate field for most of my career. As a real estate agent in Brookline, Massachusetts in the late 1980’s I was at the forefront of an amazing real estate transformation. As a real estate professional working with developers who converted thousands of dated apartments building into gorgeous condominiums…I helped bring homeownership opportunities to hundreds of families who thought it beyond their reach.
One of those families was a young couple moving to Massachusetts from Chicago as part of a job relocation. During their home finding trip, I became fascinated by the relocation policy of the couple’s employer and learned more about the real estate needs of relocating families. I joined Relocation Resources International, a relocation management company, where in my various roles I was responsible for buying and selling thousands of homes on behalf of employers like 3M, Pfizer, Lockheed-Martin, and Anheuser-Busch.
Eventually my career took its own relocation turn when I was asked to relocate to Northern Virginia to over see the establishment of VISION Relocation Group, a global relocation company in Fairfax. I had executive oversight of the buying and selling of homes for organizations like Avalon Bay, Ryder System, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and yes…Anheuser-Busch who joined the VISION Client roster.
When VISION was sold to a group in Florida, I opted out of another relocation, and decided to work directly with buyers and sellers in the Northern Virginia area which I have come to love. The climate, the friendliness, the community spirit all appeal to me. The traffic…not so much. But, keep in mind I commuted 30 miles each way during Boston’s Big Dig…so no problem!
My goal is to help families make smooth transitions…whether their relocation is across town, or across a continent. My Clients rely on my experience, expertise, and empathy to make one of life’s most stressful events a “moving experience.”
