Born in Nashville, TN when it was a ‘small town’ and the music was really ‘country’ compared to Rock & Roll and Motown! I attended public schools there and St Cecelia Academy Secondary School. Marrying my high school sweetheart, moving to Massachusetts, Europe, Virginia and beyond, enlightened me of other cultures that just ‘Southern’. My three children were born in Massachusetts, Nashville, and Virginia, respectively. They now live in Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee…and here I am in the DC Metropolitan area and loving it!

I  have had the good fortune to have experienced several different types of businesses. I worked in a bank when I was newly married for a short while. I was a stay at home Mom for 8 years, before I got a job at an Insurance Company…that’s they manually rated your policies! HA! Advancing through that field, I eventually opened my own P&C agency and enjoyed the fruits of that until I sold it and moved back to Virginia. New home, new surroundings brought new opportunity. I went to work for an advertising company and learned the real ‘art of the sale’…its a science! My late Brother, Jimbo, was a commercial Real Estate Broker. He continuously urged me to be a Realtor…not really liking the hours that I saw others work, I resisted for years! Finally, in a bored moment, I studied and took the exam…Passing with flying colors, I thought, ‘well, I’ll just try this part time’. To my amazement, my first part time year was a success! So I quit the advertising field and became a full time Realtor with the former Mount Vernon Realty in Fairfax. The second year, wasn’t as easy…the military downsized and it took our local economy into a tail spin. I ended up learning this trade in a really ‘down’ market.

To enhance my ‘split’ (earnings), I transferred to Coldwell Banker…after a few years there, I joined RE/MAX Allegiance. The real journey began with Re/Max! They were hiring the best and brightest. I took the leap and it paid off. I continuously made 100% club (six figure income) and was given the HALL OF FAME AWARD in 2005.

I have enhanced my knowledge and professionalism by continuing my education. I’ve earned the following designations:

Certified Realtor Specialist…CRS…these are 5 college level courses that provide a wealth of info.

Senior Real Estate Specialist…SRES…this is a 3 day course, concentrating on the concerns of Seniors in the market.

Accredited Buyer Agent….ABR…this is a 2 day course, concentrating on needs of buyers and how to best represent them.

Certified International Property Specialist…CIPS…I took this course in Russia in 1999. It’s a 5 day course on how to handle                                                                                               properties in other countries and with other Nationalities.

I’ve completed most of my Virginia Broker’s licensing…one more course to go!
