Licensed in Maryland and Washington, DC for over 45 years, Margaret is ranked at the top of her field. Margaret’s attention to detail and work ethic have established excellent relationships with other agents throughout the Maryland/DC area. She is known as a formidable negotiator! She was joined by her daughter, Carmen, in 2000.
Margaret holds the Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES®) designation, giving her special knowledge on the issues many mature clients face when buying or selling. She provides information to seniors and their families to help them understand the moving process.
Originally from Co. Longford, Ireland, Margaret came to the United States in 1962. She worked as a bookkeeper for several years in New York and Washington, DC before becoming a licensed REALTOR®  in 1975.
Margaret resides at Leisure World in Silver Spring, MD. She and her late husband, Raúl, have two children, Carmen and Joseph as well as five grandchildren. Pre-COVID, she loved traveling and has visited most European countries, Argentina, the Carribbean, cruised to Alaska, and many of the 50 states.
She co-owns The Irish Inn at Glen Echo, a restaurant her brother, Christy Hughes, opened in late 2003.
